MB1249 : MBX Mini Cargo Truck
As an ex Airline worker I really love this new generic, this is certainly something that you can see getting about airports and factories around the world and for me should certainly spark some imagination of the next generation collector.
Mattel for their part have used this model like they do a few other models lately as a good way to get multiple sales from the one casting with only a small and cheap change to the plastic component.
Like the MB1013 VW Transporter Crew Cab before it, a change to the plastic load makes different models and increases sales to collectors who simply must have each variant so from a marketing view it is simply genius; a low cost change to improve profitability. I am not a big fan of these small cahnges which are so obviously a money grab, but if they help provide a secure future for Matchbox then its a small price to pay.

As for the model, as a generic unlicensed model this is spot on. Kids and for that matter most adults would not be able to tell you who makes these in the real world so its the perfect model choice.
