01D : Aveling-Barford Road Roller

First produced nearly 60 years ago in 1962, this was the 4th edition of the Road Roller in the Matchbox lineup.  At 3 inches in length this version was slightly larger than its predecessors and now had plastic rollers.

The base was attached to the main body with 2 rivets and the ”Made in England” lettering was cast on the underside of the cab roof.  The model can be found in box types D1, D2, D3, D4 & E2
