It really is depressing sometimes when you see casting after casting that has been cost reduced to such a degree that it is almost entirely made from plastic. The MBX Flatbed King is a prime example of this, firstly its generic so that saves money for Mattel by not having any licensing fees but to make it even cheaper Mattel have removed the interior and put those butt ugly solid windows which remind me of the Matchbox Super GT series from the mid 1980s; a series which ultimately failed then.

I love the moving rear bed, the way it slides back and tilts is a great feature that adds real play value, the overall design is quite good as well. As a generic it is very believable to be a real vehicle but I just cant get past the amount of plastic or put another way the almost complete lack of metal in what is supposed to be a diecast car
