This casting was designed by Ryu Asada and first appeared in 2019. At first glance you can easily fall in love with the casting, Ryu has done a fantastic job of capturing all the details of the car itself, not only the shape, design and feel of the car but the small details are captured like the windscreen wipers that are part of the window moulding not only on the front but the rear window as well.

Sadly the world lost the genius designer that was Ryu earlier in 2021 to cancer but thankfully someone at Mattel has decided to pay homage to him with the license plate of this model. This is such a lovely touch to a vehicle he designed that you can only hope that Matchbox contnue to do things like this as its a great tribute to him.
