What a great design, really well done by the Mattel. Like a lot of the latest licensed designs they have really managed to capture the right look and feel and I would think Ford would be happy with this miniature reproduction of one of their vehicles.  What I dont think Ford would be happy with and certainly as a collector I find very distasteful is that this is not much more than something you would find in a Christmas cracker.

I, like many others enjoy collecting Matchbox because at its core I enjoy diecast models and I love the realism that Matchbox brings, this model doesnt fulfill one of those criteria.  This seems to be to be a very big lost opportunity (again), Matchbox in years past advertised itself as ”The greatest name in diecast” and they could do so because it was true.

This model could not be further from that having its only diecast component being the chassis and not even all of that as it is partially plastic as well.  All in all a great model, a great design and a job very well done from the Mattel designers, but once again they and the collector are being let down by the intervention and rules from the accounting department.
