MB1220 : 1962 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Sedan

Originally released in 2020 the first outing of this casting was released by Mattel to honour and celebrate the achievements of Ewy Rosqvist.

Ewy is one of the most successful rally drivers from Sweden. She won a number of European championships, as well as the ladies classification in Rally to the Midnight Sun  (Rally Sweden) and all of this in a very male dominated sport at a time when women were very rarely involved in motor sports.

This year (2021) we see the casting again only this time in a blue colour but again with racing decals.

I dont know if there is any history associated with the new livery which makes me wonder why Mattel have chosen to go down this path instead of a more standard finish with detailed front and rear instead; maybe that will come with the next release, only time will tell.
