Matchbox MB1230 : Tesla Roadster (Limited Promotional Release)
As most people already know the 2020 Tesla Roadster was used as the launch vehicle for Mattels announcement on the future sustainability of the brandm as more and more adults purchase electric vehicles it makes perfect sense to use this casting for the purpose; if you want to read more about that particular release you can do so at this blog post from back in April.
But now for the first time in general release is the same model appearing at #04 in this years basic range in a gorgeous dark red colour. This model will easily find its way into the collection and I think most other collectors will feel the same.

Whilst not a fan of EV cars in the real world; I am yet to be convinced they are the way forward, I do love this model. Matchbox (Mattel) have truely captured the look and feel of the Tesla Roadster and of course to fit with that is the green credentials that comes with it.

When all is said and done this is a model that for me really represents what Matchbox is all about and what the team and bean counters at Mattel should be focusing on. Well done to all involved in getting this one out to us, the collector and to the kids around the world that will become the collectors of the future.
