New for 2021 is this fantastic casting of the 1965 Generation II Land Rover Pickup. Its first outing is in the new premium range ”Matchbox Collector” in a gorgeous bright yellow colour.  As a model made for premium lines with its opening features; in this case the doors it is understandable to use a classic model like the Land Rover.

This is a line aimed squarely at collectors and those that love the nostalgia of older cars and with the collectors box the whole package has a retro feel which I guess is the purpose and certainly will not disappoint.

Being a premium model; as well as the opening doors the casting receives additional tampo strikes given a lot more detail and look to the model, although sometime less can be more and in this instance I think its the case.  The grille, headlights and logos on the front are all perfect and allow a great look from the front, as door the logos and highlighting to the rear.  The side gets the fuel filler cap and door handle highlight but for me thats where it should have stopped, the addition of the signature line along the rear side of the model is just a step too far, but that is a small price to pay for an otherwise great model.
