Another new casting for this year (2021) and it really is a thing of beauty. The design team at Mattel have really managed to capture the essence of this modern supercar.  For its initial release we get it in a magnificent metallic teal colour which is strikingly similar to one of the colour choices available to those that could afford to buy the real thing.

The vehicle is set of nicely with a chrome set of modern 5 spoke rims and finished nicely by the inclusion of some stragically placed tampo strikes to highlight the rear light cluster along with headlights and badging.

Its not all good though; once again it looks like the accountants have been allowed to make design decisions or at the very least put restriction on the actual designers and as always its to the detriment of what could have been the perfect car.

With such a great car design from the McLaren team and having captured so well by the Mattel designers its just such a shame that the windshield had to be in solid black. I know these decisions are made to save money but with this model you are already saving on the reduced metal content by the fact it is a convertible car so why ruin it with such a cheap move.
