MB180 : Land Rover Defender 90
The MB180 Land Rover Ninety has been around in various forms for many years now, in fact it was first issued in 1987 by Matchbox Int’l Ltd, this makes the casting rank up there among the oldest castings that are still in use by Matchbox today
The casting has seen a few changes over the years, moving from a proper diecast vehicle with a metal body and a metal chassis. The casting received its first major change in 2007 when the base was recast in plastic and was released as MB721. In 2016 the casting returned to the original MB180 designation, retaining the plastic base but now the roof component had been cast as part of the body.

As MB721 there were only 4 outings; as MB180 this latest release will be the 57th variation and it is a beauty. With its European inspired Police livery on a plain Silver/Grey body I really like this one and as part of the Autobahn Express 5 Pack this will definitely be added to the collection.
