YFE01 : 1920 Mack AC Fire Engine
In a break from the miniatures today I thought I would look back at one of the other ranges that Matchbox released in the past, that being the Models of Yesteryear and in this case the YFE01 : 1920 Mack AC Fire Engine. This little beauty was first released in 1994 and was the first model in what was to become one of the more successful and collectible sets within the Yesteryear and Collectible ranges, the Fire Series.
In total there are 9 variations to find on this one which is surprising because none of them are colour variants as you would expect in the minaitures range, they are infact for the most part casting changes.
In fact the first 7 variations are based around differing wheel types (Visible or hidden axle ends) or baseplate casting names, the last two variations are more obvious in that they have different wheel types and the seats and ladders are differently coloured as well
All in all this is a spectacular looking model with a great amount of detail, right down to some of the smaller components like the bell on the cabin.
