1938 Studebaker Coupe Express Model ‘K’ Pick-Up
Released back in 1999 and only ever appearing for just two releases this is a stunning 1/43 scale model released under the Matchbox Collectibles name.
The first outing was the bright yellow version that was the 5th in a series of 6 vehicles that formed the Classic American Pickup Collection. The model as was expected from an item marketed directly to collectors was highly detailed and at 1/43 contained a lot of detail all over the model. From the sub frame being made as separate piece not just cast on the base to the headlights right down to the Studebaker logo on the chrome hub caps.

The only other time this casting saw the light of day was in a bright red colour and plastered with the Texaco logo. Released as YYM38289 it was a great example of a branded service vehicle that plied the roads of the USA back in the 1930s & 40s.

Its such a shame that these castings were not used more, maybe one day Matchbox will drag out the molds, dust them off for another run.
